This event continues a series of initiatives to build collaboration amongst UK organisations committed to training and education for the eScience communities. Further information on past events is available here

Who is the workshop aimed at?

Those who are active, intending to be active or are otherwise committed to establishing cooperation in education and training in the use of eScience

Outline of the workshop

 

Programme

An introductory series of talks followed by workshop sessions on each of several themes. Each session will have a different chair and wil include brief introductory talks, time for discussion with break-outs if need be; an attempt at a summary of conclusions, decisions, plans. These summaries should be taken by the session chairs (or alternate) and be further developed into pages on nesc wiki. Time is deliberately left free for additional discussion.

Location

The workshop and conference meal will be held at the Jesus College, University of Cambridge. Because this event is being held in term time, accommodation will need to be privately arranged, but reasonable costs can be reimbursed. A conference dinner will be held at Jesus College on the evening of the 15th January, to which all delegates are invited. Follow-on

It is anticipated that the workshop may generate interest in some follow-on activities. We will discuss the sort of follow-on activities that can be arranged, such as visits to NIEeS to demonstrate some of the escience/grid technologies and to provide help with installation and usage.

Registration of interest

Registration is essential and must be done using our on-line booking form. Registration is free. Registration for UK academic participants includes all catering and the conference dinner.

The NIEeS will fund sensible UK travel expenses if necessary for you to attend.
