The GENIE training workshop, run by the developers and technical users of GENIE (Grid ENabled Integrated Earth system model), is aimed at scientific users or potential users of genie from novice to 'intermediate'. Running over two days it will start at the very beginning, describing GENIE and it's component modules. From here, practical sessions on running GENIE on a local machine or cluster will familiarise trainees with running the model. Later sessions will focus on developing modules, running scientific experiments with the model and will culminate with a session on 'grand challenge' experiments, running model ensembles on the national grid network.
The GENIE training workshop aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of GENIE framework to attendees and to facilitate networking of new GENIE users, thus building capacity for GENIE-based research within the UK and international paleoclimate, earth-system science and e-science communities.
